Opportunities

We encourage speakers of Heritage Languages to participate in research and documentation of the languages. To this end, qualified students are invited to enroll in the following:

• Exploring Heritage Languages (LIN 199 in Winter 2022)
• Research Opportunity Program
• Independent Project (LIN 495-499 any semester)
• Workstudy Program Please see job descriptions at U of T's Career Centre website.
• Graduate students should consult with the PI or one of the co-investigators about opportunities to be involved. Involvement in the project is an option for forum papers, generals papers, etc.
• Consider working on some aspect of the HLVC project as part of a course research project, when appropriate.
• Additionally, we sometimes hire student research assistants (check for postings at The U of T Career Centre).
• We also train qualified volunteers who are interested in getting experience working on a large-scale research project.

The first step will be to sign a Corpus Use Form.

• Independent researchers, please fill in the access request form here.
• Students using HLVC files as part of a University of Toronto course will access files via the Corpora in the Classroom website, and sign a corpus use form there.

Next, if you will be working in the HLVC lab, please fill in a Lab Use Form.
